valves

ValvesDesigned to reduce water loss due to deep seepage in poly tubing irrigation systems.

This valve has the advantage of handling water flow of 6 to 7 liters per second, substantially reducing water loss due to seepage and maintaining balanced irrigation of 1000 to 1200 cubic meters of water per hectare.

Physical Specifications:
Aperture diameter 3.5 inches
Flow rate 6 to 7 liters / second
Material Weather-resistant plastic. UV inhibitors to resist deterioration and fading.
Color Grey

Efficiency:

The following is a comparison of different irrigation systems studied in sugar cane production in Valle del Cauca, Colombiar:

Irrigation Using Siphons

  • Open irrigation ditch, with evenly distributed 3-inch PVC siphons, provides 3.5 liters per second water flow and consumes 1800 to 2000 cubic meters of water per hectare.
  • Open irrigation ditch, with evenly distributed double 3-inch PVC siphons, provides 7 liters per second water flow and consumes 1600 cubic meters of water per hectare.
  • Open irrigation ditch, with alternating double 3-inch siphons, provides 7 liters per second water flow and consumes 1200 to 1300 cubic meters of water per hectare.

  • 18-inch poly tubing with alternating 3.5” slide gate valves provides 7 liters of water flow per second and consumes 1000 to 1200 cubic meters of water per hectare.

Water loss due to transport is reduced by using poly tubing, and deep leakage is decreased due to the increased flow rate that the 3.5-inch gate valve makes possible.
